The Great Canadian Hops Company is a family owned farm, in beautiful Norfolk County, near Turkey Point, Ontario. We are committed to producing high quality hops for Canadian and Global craft brewers.

Our farm was deeded in 1802 and over the past 200+ years has supported numerous crops. The previous owners, the Posts, shared our commitment to innovation, with Tom Post inventing a number of labour-saving devices for the tobacco industry, including the Dathos Kiln Humidifier.

We purchased the 183 acre farm in 2007 and have been on a journey to return the farm to full production. In addition to hops, we grow hazelnuts and hay, as well as manage our hardwood woodlot.

While originally known for tobacco, Norfolk County today is the Market Garden of Ontario, producing Sweet Corn, Ginseng, Watermelon, Pumpkins, Peppers, Tomatoes, Grapes, Cherries, Apples, Pears, Blueberries ….. and Hops! We grow on sandy soil and irrigate from our spring-fed ponds, making it ideal growing conditions for hops.

We built our first hop yard in 2015. We are now on our third hop yard, with plans to expand in 2020 from 3 to 6 acres.

Our mission: To partner with Canadian and Global craft brewers to help them make great beer. Our vision: To build a family-owned agri-business to help Ontario become a leader in the global hop industry. Our values: Customer First, Family and Community, Quality and Safety, Innovation
